CSUB has posted two openings for assistant baseball coaches, rumor is that Jody Robinson is not returning, I would be interested to know what happened there. I believe fall ball starts around the end of September or the 1st of October. It is my opinion that the head coach no longer has enthusiasm for the program and is there solely for the money and really doesn't care. I feel sorry for the kids in the program, I think there is disorder ahead. But I could be wrong.

Interesting. Link to announcement? I cant find it online anyplace.
I really like Robinson. I hope hes not leaving. If he is...I hope its for a D-I head position someplace.

I understand that two new asst. coaches have been hired, will have to wait for confirmation. I would sure like to know what happened to Coach Robinson.

Agreed. I have twitter but as of yet, haven't seen anything ( i know, I know...LOL...I know how you feel about timely info from the dept)  If Jodie's moved on, I wish he and Sally all the success. |

Not true. Jody's contract was not renewed and when the jobs were posted on the CSUB Faculty web site he had to apply just like anyone that was qualified. He was not selected.

Kendall Rogers of Perfect Game reports that Bob Macaluso, who was an assistant at UC Irvine for the last six seasons is now an assistant at CSUB.

Thanks for posting the announcement. Makes sense though as Kernen is on way to retirement (sooner or later) and this is prime opportunity for one of the new hires to possibly get that spot when K steps down. Good career move, IMO. |
