Ok...most of OOC is over. One midweek tune-up vrs Northridge on Tues and then....Sac St...who looks good.

Should be a good test early, I like our pitching rotation for the series. We've shown we can head North and win taking two of three from Davis a few weeks ago. ERA is leading the WAC right now at 2.58, of course those were all non-conference games but still D1 hitters we limited.
All pitchers have shown big improvements in the last few weeks, plus some of the hitters are turning a corner as well. Mylz Jones is starting to get his offense on par with his stellar defense while others like Hein and Younger are getting on base a lot more recently. Still a long way to go but the improvements are encouraging.
We'll have live audio Tuesday at Northridge and this weekend at Sac St. on Gorunners.com , no way I was missing the first conference series.

True. Hopefully Brockmeier stays hot. Montoya looked very good on Sunday as well. Defense is....great right now, too.
The Sac St and NMSU series will tell a lot very quickly.

Aikenhead 4IP, 2H.
Jones continues with 12 game hitting streak. Younger had 3 hits as well according to the press release.

Pitchers were dealing today. Carter was very good through his first three before getting into that jam in the 8th. Aikenhead and Christensen were very solid too. Some timely hits again. Good roll heading into the WAC

CSUB has a seriously deep pitching staff. Offensively and defensively they are sound as always. Lack of power scares me in the postseason. It is tough to string together 3 or more hits very often against the aces of good teams.
Sac will give us an idea of where we are at. Need to take 2 of 3.

Congrats on first-ever conference win. 4-2 'Runners over Sac. St. I assume McKenzie pitched well but haven't seen the box score yet.
McKenzie 8IP, 8Ks, 3BB.
Christensen with the save, his fifth. (I think this MAY be a record for saves already! I cant remember anyone having five saves in their young history as a team. I'm too lazy to look up the record book...someone correct me if I'm mistaken)
I wonder of Martinez will catch more and Brockmeyer to first. Word is Brock hits better when he plays first. I think Martinez is a very good catcher.

It was a tight game. That #1 starter for Sac is good too. Good win for the Runners today, best win of the season so far IMO. I know I sound like a broken record, but CSUB is going to have to win lots and lots of games with this schedule to get an at large. Like 40.

5-0 Hornets in this one. Looks like our pitchers had 2 wild pitches and two errors.
Brattvet 6 IP, 2ER, 3BB, 2Ks.
Barragan looks like he finished up ok with 5Ks in 2 IP (on 45 pitches).
Rubber game today. Gotta' take the series, 'Runners....

A wild one in Sacramento. Three-run Brockmeyer homer in 10th to win it. 6-3.
Looks like Sac gave CSUB all they could handle.
